Dear Mr Hines

Many thanks for your reply.

I am not at this moment prepared to remove your articles from our website. As proven, we gained your permission to use the articles and have given full credit to you as the author and also included a link to your website pages as requested.

The profile of PetClub UK has not changed since it was launched and it has always been a commercial website. This would have been obvious to anyone. I find your argument that we should remove the articles because of a difference in interpretation between the UK and the US of a “pet club” rather innocuous considering the time and effort it has taken us to re-produce the articles on our site.

The onus is on you to investigate and decide whether to offer your permission, which you obviously did at the time. As nothing has changed since then I find your request to now remove the articles unacceptable. I would assume that because of the time, money and effort we have expended on PetClub UK in the last couple of years has improved our google searches and rankings which is the reason it has now come to your attention.

I would also like to point out that the commercial side of PetClub UK is purely UK only so would have no negative effect. Alongside the commercial aspect of PetClub UK is the extensive pet care and pet information section of the website. This offers reference and information to our visitors and “pet club” members which is what a “pet club” is by definition.

I would like to reach an amicable agreement to continue as we are, I would welcome any suggestions of extra wording you would like inserted into the articles or updated links you think would be relevant. Many of our UK members have found your articles informative and helpful which I understand to be the reason we were both happy for the content to be on our website.

Please could you let me have your comments.

Kind regards

David Woolven
